Según la traducción de Hauser, habría que añadir un nu antes de marzeggia; sin embargo, existen también refranes paralelos que justifican la forma recogida por Hauser; por ejemplo, Se febbraio non febbraieggia. marzo marzeggia e aprile tira la cintura. Para la última parte del refrán la traducción de Hauser no es literal.
