Localizado por Hauser (1975: 318) en Delémont (Berna, Suiza); localidad que desde 1979 pertenece al cantón del Jura. Una variante del segundo miembro para el mismo refrán se recoge en Friburgo y La Béroche (Neuchâtel, Suiza): il neigera sur le bois feuillé (p. 484). El "bosque desnudo" y a la "hoja" aluden indirectamente a las estaciones del invierno y de la primavera; de ahí las asignaciones.
