Refrán gascón pirenaico, situado en Argelèrs (en Argelès-Gazost) por Cordier. Puede que se refiera al importante Gave de Pau, aunque en Argelèrs-Gasòst confluyen el Gave de Pau y el Gave d'Asun. De hecho, parece que el refrán podría aplicarse en general al caudal de los Gaves o ríos pirenaicos gascones. En grafía normativa: Quan eth Gave plora, [/] Vent o ploja. El refrán también aparece en Rondou con alguna ligera diferencia: Quand et gabe ploure, [/] Qu'eg hère bent ou plouye.
